Whale sighting off San De Fuca...and I got to see it.
Just yesturday on my way up to get kids, I came around the inlet and I could not believe my eyes. A huge fin came flying out of the very choppy water. A beautiful grey whale was swimming just off the beach. I tore off the rode into the pottery shop parking lot and dashed down to the beach. I only got these two pictures and neither show how wonderful this beautiful creature was.
These pictures are so terrible but they were proof enough to hubby and the kids that I finially got to see a whale in the cove. We have lived here for 17 years and have never seen the whales playing in the cove as they often do. Usually they are the Orcas. This guy was a pretty big grey. Just made my day!! We look for him again on the ride home but never saw him.
