I always keep thinking that the new year is going to bring calm into the house. The holidays are over and everyone is back to their regular schedules. Not so this year. We have been on a dead run since Jan 1 and it's not slowing down.
WELCOME 2011
First, we started off with an amazing SEAHAWK VICTORY!!!!! Wow what a game! For a week we were all riding high and hopeful of a another great game in Seattle. When...we got killed by the Bears. don, don, don. Season Over!
Early January was all about Competition Cheer...Mookie just loves it. We actually just finished up the season last weekend at the State Championship. The girls finished fourth in the State of Washington in the small all girl tumbling division. Mookie was dissappointed (she's so competitive). It's not like when she played basketball, you don't have three quarters to get in a groove. You have 2minutes and 30 seconds. No do over's. If you mess up, you're done. They all worked so hard. :( Next year is already in the plans I'm sure and they'll all bounce back like the troopers they are. Go Cats!
Birdman is still struggling with his gluten issues and I am becoming very familiar with items I never knew existed...xanthum gum, quinoa. Do you even realize how many things have gluten in them? Tons! My poor guy has to learn how to eat all over again. I've always been very good at reading labels and stuff but now I have to be even more diligent as does he. I've found some great resources and some great recipes so we are on our way.
Sew Expo 2011
Ive been working on sewing projects with mookie in preparation for Sewing Expo 2011. Last week we finished a bouble knit wrap for her fashion merchandising class. In March she will be participating in the Coats and Clark Charity Fashion Show at the 2011 Sewing Expo. All proceeds go to Mary Bridge Childrens Hospital. Mookie was asked my Annette Millard of Pacific Fabrics to work with her on a runway project. We went on Monday to Pacific Fabric&Crafts in Everett to meet up with Annette and purchase patterns and fabric for the project. Mookie went with two patterns that she is going to merge together for the dress design she wants. Newlook pattern number 6912 will be the dress and Vogue pattern number 7733 will be the sleeve. She choose a denim knit (like for jeggings). I can't wait to see it finished. Pictures to come. Fashion show will be on Sunday March 6th at 11:30 or 12:30. Tickets are $10.
Up Coming Events:
Basketball for Birdman starts today. Track for Mookie starts soon. Sew Expo for Mookie and Me, March4,5,6.
Peace-
Teresa
