For the first time in fifteen years, we had a white Christmas. It was amazing. Today warmed up a little and most of the roads are now clear so it will be business as usual very soon. I'm so glad we got so much snow this year because it really forced us all to slow down and have some good old fashion fun. We took full advantage of playing in the snow. Even lily (our chocolate) loves the snow.

What is it about a little bit of snow turns us all into kids again. The kids started Christmas break early this year due to all the snow (which is highly untypical) for us. We usually get some snow one day and by the nest it's all melted away. This past week has been awesome. Lots of snowball fights, walks in the snow, snow angels, and hot cocoa.

I love milk glass...can you tell. It makes the house feel like it's dusted with snow.
This is our family tree where we hang photos of all our family members. When the kids were little we didn't have any family close so this was a way for them to put presents with a face and to learn everyone's name.
Here's the big tree that is set up in the sitting area and my tea tree that is out on the porch.

Annual Christmas Tea. Each year Liz and I host a Christmas tea/luncheon. We spend days in the kitchen preparing all our favorites for our friends and family. This year our theme was pepermint candies.
Our show stopper was the yummy pepermint cake (thanks Paula Dean)on the far right. We also had stuffed mushrooms, rum cupcakes, monster cookies, two different quiches, gouda and grapes, and of course tea. We served, chocolate mint tea, candy cane tea, and huckleberry tea.
